A&M was a small, all male military school. LSU would not come to College Station to play. It's the same reason big schools won't play at small schools today.

Travel.

College Station was nothing but dirt roads to and from, tractor paths in.

For Arkansas, the Shreveport game was one that made it possible to build our fan base in the southern part of the state, LSU's in the northern part of their state.

Plus teams traveled by train for the most part back then.
