Zook was a good DC at Florida in the 90s. He held Alabama's vaunted rushing attack at bay for much of the 1992 SEC Championship Game, allowing Florida to come back and tie it up in the fourth quarter.

Great recuiter (he even recruited well at Illinois, for crying out loud) and really good defensive coach with NFL background.
He is a terrible head coach, but a very good defensive coach and one of the best recruiters in college football.
What would be wrong with that hire?
Saban has proven that 9/10ths of winning in college is about recruiting. So, get Zook and Ed O along with Frank Wilson and just reel in top 5 classes every year.
