It looks like he is up for consideration for our vacant OC position. I know the team struggled offensively at times this season but do you feel that was more of talent/bad qb play at times or what was missing. How do you feel about his playcalling and how did Harris look after the UGA game?

Just really curious because he is apparently getting a serious look from us. I was not a fan but our insiders seem to like him.

When I can predict what play we are going to run much of the time it's not a good thing. Good luck.

Our guys are literally fawning over this guy and blaming your qb situation as the primary reason he wasn't very good this year. Sounds like he was about like I suspected......overated after sitting behind Cutcliff for so many years.

I hate the thought of hiring Roper.

I guess two OCs are better than one

But to answer the original question, I am not sad to see Roper go. C-Mac needed to clean house.

Im not a fan either, but had Harris or Grier played the entire season rather than Driskel, I'm sure Roper would be viewed quite differently.

Driskel is just not good.

Hard to say. I think he is a good OC, but was constrained by Muschamp and the QB situation. It's still unclear how much of Duke's success was cos of Roper or if he can do it on his own. But Richt is an offensive guy so it probably isn't that big of a risk.

Harris just isn't good either, he had shockingly similar numbers in the final game and played way worse against EKU.

Stop randomly blaming him for our offense which blew at all angles, like my ex.

Look forward to a lot of go routes, no intermediate passes, and terrible situational play calls. I'd venture to say 90%+ of his pass plays are outside the numbers.

He's a pretty decent recruiter and likable guy. He had Driskel to work with, so hard to tell how he is with QB's. He was fricked from the jump there. He didn't get enough time with Grier or Harris. He had weeks to work with Harris going into the season, who was a backup so he probably didn't get many reps. Grier was an EE but promised a redshirt, so I'm sure he had limited reps as well.

Driskel went backwards from 2012 to 2013 and then fell apart completely this year.

You could just tell after the Alabama game the team felt like it had no shot with Driskel at QB.

You could tell that they were butthurt about Brisett not getting the nod and submarined our quarterback.

Fact of the day: They produced the same numbers, no matter who the frick our QB was for the last four years.

Safe to say after that many offensive coordinators and blown star quarterbacks that the problem is not at the QB position.

PLEASE...lets not go down this road again...cue the dead horse with maggots and flies. No one will change the other ones mind and this is SO counterproductive.

You are contradicting yourself here. Were they but hurt about Driksel getting the job or not. Cos you just said the performance stayed the same regardless of QB.

The production stayed the same, not the performance. In the final game, Driskel protected the ball better than Harris.

In fact, in every game since he's been benched he's outperformed Harris when he saw significant playing time.

The difference is: They actually tried for Harris. A lot of his passes were straight up horrible but the receivers suddenly, miraculously figured out how to snatch balls out of the air and stretch like acrobats.

Similar production, gigantic disparity in effort.

I never bring up Driskel, I'm just not going to let this board shite on him after what he did Saturday.

Did what? Convert a 3rd down for the win? Sure teh WR's dropped a ton of passes.

But nearly every pass completion was a pre-determined location from Driskel (probably play design).

Thats not impressive and frankly, thats one of the reasons Driskel limits the offense.

I would love to see him have success at La Tech, but am I sad hes gone? You know the answer to that.
