If UGA were to promote Lilly to OC they would have a QB coach opening. Do you all see David Green as a possibility for this position or potentially who?

It would be somebody who has coached QBs before. Not Greene

David Greene works in insurance in Athens, right? You don't just hire an old player for shits and giggles

Any former player that wants to coach needs to become a graduate assistant somewhere for about 3 years to learn all the things necessary to be successful as a coach.

I'm not the one suggesting we add a guy who works in insurance to be our QB Coach

I think he means that a guy who actually has coached QBs would be a better fit than someone who sells Insurance.

Short answer: no

Long answer: definitely no

i honestly don't have any good ones to suggest but they do need to have coaching experience.

He is acting as if David Green is some random Joe schmoe off of the street. You think this guy doesnt hang around the program. If yall will read the question, it clearly asks if not Green the who else. If you cant read and answer the entire question then why dont you just not answer.

There are literally hundreds of options before Greene. Just because you can play doesn't mean you can coach

Bobo only had one year under his belt when he got to UGA so he wasnt far off of Greens experience.

He had been a GA for three years and had been the QB coach at Jacksonville St.

Greene has done none of those things.

Well, in this guy's defense, Greene did get a couple to add on to their life insurance policy when they originally had said they were content with their current coverage. And I know he got little Tommy's batting average up over .300.

Bobo had no connection to Richt or his system. The only connection was that he was coaching and was a former Dawg. He wasnt a GA for 3 years he was an Admin assistant and then a GA. Being a GA is nothing like being a position coach.

David Green would have to become a GA and study for and learn a number of NCAA rules and take the tests, and earn certifications, so they can do stuff like recruit. That is why you become a GA for a few years to get these all under your belt. Don't come here and get chippy with us because you made an emotional thread with no understanding of the topic you are discussing. I ask that you apologize to those whose feelings you have hurt and ask that you slap your own face with an open hand, firmly as an act of contrition.

I figured with Lilly to OC there'd be a TE coach opening?
