I don't particularly care for HUNH offenses, but it is obvious they are not going away. HUNH teams might as well say "we know we can't beat you straight up, so we're going to try to trick you."

My personal opinion aside, I don't care if other teams run the HUNH as long as the game is administered properly.

And therein lies the problem - often times chain gangs are not set properly and/or officials are not in their proper spots when the ball is snapped.

The following quote from MSU LB Ed Davis:

quote:

When we looked at the game film for Baylor again, we could see the chains weren’t even set up before they were running the next play.”

So you are being tricked because the chains aren't set up? Also before you go bitching about Auburn, we were in the bottom half of the country in terms of plays run per game. Auburn just lined up and lit the Bama defense up, just like yours did to ours.

Is that it's like watching Arena Football. I mean WVU & Baylor playing a 77 - 70 game in regulation is flag football or sandlot. It doesn't take men to play in that game.

WTF?

HUNH is a creature of the rule changes several years ago, it is not a gimmick to trick other teams

You're a couple years late. Football culture has moved past this discussion.

The D should have to count to 5 mississippi before they can blitz because linemen might not be ready for it.

So, football culture has moved past caring if down and distance is accurate or not, or if officials are positioned properly to be able to see and call fouls effectively? We're just going to say "you are close enough, first down," or "we're not really sure where the ball should be placed after that play because the chains weren't set before the ball was snapped."

Pffft.

I think you have this backwards. The chain crew has nothing to do with where the ball is spotted.

Well they better be set before the first down play is run or the line to make for the next first down isn't going to be very accurate.
