UGA will have to become salary competitive if they wish to stay at the forefront.
You can blame McGarity all you want, but he is only the front man for the gubner and his butter bean sg BOR members who control the purse strings.
Alabama was 1/2 its size and with middle tier academics pre Saban, now it's right behind UGA winning about four or five National championships in something every year.
Think where UGA could be if it tried.

I just don't see a lateral move....and I also don't see UGA not being able to match A&M...Pruitt might have an offer, but I just don't see it.
bobo i get...no amount of money would have kept him here...he wanted to be a HC...but Pruitt would be downgrading (imo) to the same position and could be kept with cash.

Unless he doesn't feel like he can get what he wants or the program doesn't have the right tools to be successful.

UGA might.....a big might.....try and keep him but I doubt they would ever go over 1.2 to do so. If he is being offered 1.8, as rumor has it, I am not certain 1.2 would keep him. I am concerned that he is conflicted over "The Georgia Way." I am sure he loves the fact that we operate with integrity in disciplinary issues and considers that a breath of fresh air compared to his FSU experience. On the other hand, I am sure he never could of truly understood our cheapness regarding athletics and especially in football before he got here and saw how our AD operates. I am afraid that he is fully aware now.
