There are a couple things keeping them committed to NU.
1. Uncle Lorenzo Hicks was a CB at Nebraska ('84 to '88)
2. OL coach John Garrison is a former Blue Springs coach
3. Bonded with DL coach Rick Kaczenski
Mike Riley has yet to name his full staff at Nebraska, and Gary Andersen has yet to name his at OSU.
Here is what is known:
Riley's staff at OSU:
Mike Cavanaugh –OL coach
Mark Banker – DC
Bruce Read – Special Teams
Trent Bray – LB coach
Rod Perry – DB coach
Joe Seumalo – DL coach
John Garrett – OC
Brent Brennan - WR coach
Chris Brasfield – RB coach
Pelini's staff at Nub U
Tim Beck – OC & QB coach
Ron Brown – RB coach
Barney Cotton – Asst HC & OL/TE coach
Ross Els – LB coach
Rich Fisher – WR coach
John Garrison – OL coach
Rick Kaczenski – DL coach
John Papuchis - DC
Charleton Warren – DB coach
Riley has named 4 coaches to his Nub staff
Mike Cavanaugh –OL coach
Mark Banker – DC
Bruce Read – Special Teams
Trent Bray – LB coach
Andersen has named one of Riley's coaches to his staff.
Brent Brennan - WR coach
Garrison and Cotton have seen the writing on the wall and just took jobs at UNLV. Cotton to be OC.
Els and Papuchis are dead men walking.
Riley is hinting at keeping at least one from Pelini's staff, and Charleton Warren is being retained.
With Garrison gone, that might erode some of the Davis's shine on Nebraska.
Still the DL hire seems to be the key to getting the twins to flip.
Retaining Kaczenski is still an option, which seems to be what the twins want.
OSU's Joe Seumalo has a lot of ties to OSU. His son is an All-PAC Center at OSU, his daughter just landed a volleyball schollie from there.
But Gary Andersen will NOT be retaining Seumalo at OSU, instead bringing in his Wisky DL coach.
Seumalo might end up with Barney Cotton and John Garrison at UNLV. He still could also end up in Lincoln.
There also is the possibility Riley will bring in Inoke Breckterfield, the DL coach at Pitt. A former DE for Riley at OSU.

I'm not saying they're on the same level as Beckner, but we need numbers on the DL. We're already going to be thin at that position next year as far as depth goes. Figure after next year, Brantley is probably gone. We need some numbers. Davis twins are solid. Add that they are 2 for 1 and it gives you that depth instead of having to woo over 2 different kids.

OSU defensive line coach Joe Seumalo plans to join new head coach Tony Sanchez's staff at UNLV, per BeaverBlitz.com.

don't disagree at all, remind me again, what is the "Blue Springs" deal? Staff is ran by beakers or what? Not sure what the anti-MU bias is there but that should be fixed by the state of Mo.

The way their momma responded to rumors of them decommitting made me immediately think that she's taken or agreed to some kind of payoff. But who knows.
Don't trust this stuff when the parents are so openly involved in the decision process.

Their football HC is Terry Donahoe, former beaker QB.
The gripe is that he's steering kids away from Mizzou. Not certain that is entirely true. I'm sure he wants the best for his kids, but that might mean showing as many options besides Mizzou.

I think the mom is like that because of the family having played there and the ties to the University. She probably has her heart set on her kids going there and doesn't want to give up on that possibility so fast. Just wish a certain dad from the Rock Bridge area was like that with his alma mater.

If we had won National championships he would have.

Like all of those Oregon won?

Really don't think they'll end up at Nebraska. Wherever Coach Kaz goes is where will give Mizzou the biggest threat.

they also said that a school that offers fisheries and wildlife programs is important to them. how does MU stack up in this area?

Here's the fisheries and wildlife link
LINK
Although I must say, Columbia had a pretty good wildlife when I was there

maybe they just need to be reminded that the SEC is the de facto NFL instructional league..

“Right now, it’s between Missouri and Nebraska,” said Carlos, “and possibly wherever Coach Kaz goes. He’s the one who recruited us, who we felt comfortable around, so we’re going to see where he coaches next season.”
If Coach Kul gets the DC job, wouldn't we be in the market for a DL coach? Hiring Coach Kaz would make it a 3-for-1 hire.

The DC is also a position coach.

You don't want to hire a coach from a program with a bad defense for the past 5 years just so you can have a chance of recruiting 2, 3 star prospects.

Paul Chryst just got hired as the new Wisky HC
LINK
I'll bet Riley goes after Chryst's DL coach at Pitt. Inoke Breckterfield, a former DE for Riley at OSU.
IMO, his OSU DL coach, Seumalo, has too many roots at OSU, and the west. Those Samoa recruiting trip won't do much for the Nubs. Seumalo took the DL job at UNLV.
Breckterfield could also help with recruiting the eastern B10 region.
Still could take Kaczenski, but Riley has already taken his token holdover with Warren. Pelini probably didn't help things for his former staff.
No real info on this, just a SWAG.

I had the same thought but didn't say anything as everyone seems to think it is already Odom's job. The recruits, not just Davis twins, all seem to love Coach Kaz for sure. And yes, if Kul gets the DC job, we will have an opening to fill on the defensive side of the ball, whether its DL or LB or wherever.

Not to quibble, but his name is Kelly Donahoe. And they've gotten Baston and Stigall from Blue Springs.
