6 players lost so far and counting, including a couple day 1 starters.
Spurrier really put Carolina in a tough spot by putting so much uncertainty on the program.

True. I love the guy and honestly hope to see him around into his 70's. He should come out and tell the world that he will die on the sideline.

OBC will die on a golf course and damn it he will die a happy man. I am beyond pissed he didn't coach at state, second favorite coach of all time.

You really do have to call him that for making that statement. We just lost the son (a CB) of Panthers/Saints LB Mark Fields. He would have been a probable day 1 starter and in the NFL draft after 3 years.

He should just quit now. It's better for the program in the long run.

He takes an in-home with Fields, only can tell him that the assistants have 2 year contracts, and 5 days later, Fields de-commits.
I hate to say it, but I agree. Thing are literally imploding before our eyes. Spurrier has become a liability at this point.

Well he's used to being praised as hilarious and/or genius when he speaks even when he's not being either simply because he's 'Spurrier' so I doubt he gave any thoughts to repercussions.

Yep. I think he has grown too comfortable just "shooting from the hip" that he probably didn't realize the implications of what he was saying would be for new recruits.
Still, completely unnecessary and stupid way to damage your legacy at USC

The Bear had the same issue. Became tougher to recruit when he couldn't tell players that he would be there for their entire four years. He was up against a mandatory state retirement age.

Tough times for the Cocks. Hope it all goes well after this.

What is this, communist China?

Spurrier just being Spurrier. Opening his mouth and nothing good coming out of it.

That's a thing?

A little surprised at the Gamecock fans saying Spurrier needs to leave after he saved your terrible program, but I guess anyone can pull out multiple consecutive eleven win seasons at Columbia.
