Why are UGA fans in this thread?

Because even they don't want to talk about UGA basketball.
quote:

They just don't get it. TAMU brings in more than a lot of SEC schools combined.

Lol.
quote:

regarding the "contributions" column on your link, donations to a&m athletics goes to the 12th man foundation and not the school/AD. the 12mf manages the money and pays the school.

Yeah, that's how every school does it. SC gets around $12m a year from the Gamecock Club that's not reported, and the same goes for every other athletic department in the nation. I hear the same argument every year from Clemson fans insisting their IPTAY donations aren't counting towards their revenue and that they more than make up for the SEC money SC is getting.

quote:

at an average of $90/ticket (it is likely more), that is over $62m.

No, it's $35m.

So either TAMU is too stupid to add or it's not really "selling" 697,000 tickets at $90 a pop. You tell me which is more likely.

There are 26.9 million people in Texas.

Nobody's doubting that TAMU brought television markets with it.

My point is, however, TAMU is located in a state with 26.9 million people, some of the best television markets, has 2 million alumni, and yet can't generate more revenue than Arkansas, a college located in a state with about 11% of the population of Texas.

You can't generate revenue for your own school with all those advantages, but we're supposed to believe that TAMU is somehow one of the top producing schools revenue wise for the SEC?

quote:

somebody doesnt understand just how big a deal bringing A&M into the fold was for the SECN...

Someone doesn't understand his school's annual revenues were $75 million before joining the SEC and $119 and $93 million after-and his school is still 9th out of 14 in total revenue
quote:

First, the numbers in the list you linked are from the prior year, which was heavily affect by the Big12 money A&M had to forego as part of their decision to leave the conference.

Ok, let's look at prior years.
2009-2010 revenue: $71.8 million
2010-2011 revenue: $75 Million
2011-2012 revenue: $79 million
2012-2013 revenue (first year in SEC): $119 million
2013-2014 revenue: $93 million

So it looks like TAMU's revenues was more than partly affected by the sharing of conference revenue. I don't really see a drop off from TAMU losing out on the Big 12 money in 2011-2012 since TAMU's revenue increased in the year it left.

quote:

This thread is about SEC revenue and how it is shared, not the revenue of individual programs, which is only partly affected by the sharing of conference revenue.

TAMU went from low to mid $70 million per year total AD revenue to $119 and 93 million per year after it joined the SEC. TAMU has benefited dramatically from revenue sharing. Before joining the SEC, TAMU's revenue was half of Texas's budget. Partly affected? More like almost 30% increase affected.

quote:

I should also add this: when the fat SEC network checks start coming in, you bitches better thank A&M for bringing in about 1/4 of that.

More like you'd better thank the SEC for letting you join in the spoils. The SEC was more worried about the Texas television market than Texas A&M. TAMU has benefited more from the deal than the SEC as a whole has thus far.

guess that Duck trophy will fill this up nicely

Tell me more about that time you witnessed UGA win a championship grandpa.

Arkansas #1 in facilities & ERA. That's all you need to know

Lol. And tied for last in CWS championships.
quote:

Considering A&M, Bama, Florida, Auburn, Tenn, Georgia do provide most of the money revenue...

Uh, kentucky and arkansas bring in more revenue than TAMU.

LINK /

Which means A&M is 9th out of 14 teams on revenue brought into the SEC. Maybe you should rethink your position on revenue sharing.
Hey brahs, the west has been losing to powerhouse schools like a coach less Wisconsin and notre dame that got pwned by North Carolina, Georgia tech That lost to duke and North Carolina. The only team that played a legit school was ole miss and they got embarrassed. You'd think a powerhouse team from the west could Keep it close with a legit big 12 team.
It's funny to me that sc's godawful d wasn't exposed but lsu's ole miss's and msu's were.

Posted by VFL1800FPD We lost to UGA and UF by a combined 4 points. Does that make us a 8-4 team that lost some close games? No. #arkylogic

South Carolina lost 4 games by 7 points or less. Therefore sc is actually 11-2.

Because Texas isn't that good.
Bad troll attempt. Enjoy your race riots/ abundant meth on your newly paved roads. Seems like mizzou has its priorities in place.
