Well, this can't be true, although the biggest charade in the SEC does happen to reside in the same state.
Seriously, Jones is shooting a little under par after round one. A nice win over USCe and some nice close calls vs.Mizzou and UGA. And a very nice bowl game. Vol fans have every reason to be optimistic...although I would be concerned about the decision making that allowed Dobbs to sit half the year, which I think probably cost them at least the Florida game.

Serious question...
What happened to the 4 year scholarship thing?

Finally, a reasonable Bama opinion. A lot of us were questioning sitting Dobbs until the Bama game, but from what I understand he promised Dobbs and his folks that he'd try to redshirt him for academics. After Worley got hurt he was unable to follow through on that promise, but he tried.

If these kids want to start getting paid, they should be subject to processing.

and an ugly part of being a player for a major conference team.
Yeah but some of those don't deserve to keep their scholly. There are several players on LSU' roster that barely ever see the field, yet they are on track to graduate. I'm sure every other team has the same. It's mainly the headaches that lose their scholarship

4 year scholarships are a fairy tale. Doesn't even exist for academic scholarships - need to make grades or else

I'm fine with processing some of the lazy, entitled assholes that are bad people or don't get their shite taken care of in class, etc.

I've heard that a few times. You can look at it from different perspectives, but it can get dicey making promises like that to individual parents. When you promise parents a redshirt year, basically you're promising them a masters degree. Don't know if that's true of Dobbs...some kids are at the other extreme and can need the extra year to make the adjustment to college academics. But when you start promising a fifth year, you're in effect promising them two degrees, if they're good students. You're hired to win football games. This was Tennessee's chance to end the UF streak, and although UT will be better next year, I wouldn't be surprised if beating Florida just got more difficult.

When a coach, any coach, accepts commitments from 30 or so players each year, kids are going to be "processed", for lack of a better word, either by a personal choice to transfer, or by "Circumstances". If kids believe in themselves they willingly drink the koolaid; they choose the program when they know some players will end up on the outside looking in, but they refuse to consider the possibility they will be one of those players. So, that's on them for making a choice with full knowledge of the situation, not on the coach.

You know a tenn fan will bring up a twitter feed. They follow those players religiously on social media like bama fans kill each other

That was posted on another forum. I'm also sure no LSU fans follow recruits on twitter.

Honestly, Dobbs was inconsistent in practice in Spring and Fall camp. Worley had balled out against Georgia, I can't really blame Jones for not playing him then.

Every program does it, I don't understand the big deal. If the players want college football to be treated like a business and be paid, then they need to learn they are expendable like every other profession.
Except they aren't paid and it's not a profession, and even the current speculative model for paying players isn't treating it like a profession. It's some kind of bogus "stipend."
But you already knew that. You're just a moron running your mouth on the internet.

In this instance it did. My post had everything to do with TN fans claiming no processing has taken place. My Saban comment was based on the fact some people said the game had passed him by before the season. Obviously it has not. Now go read my post again with that in mind and come back to apologize.

From Hendrix the DE leaving TN:
I just wasn’t happy,” Hendrix told the News-Democrat. “I was happy with my playing time, I just didn’t like it here. Just my relationship with the coaches and how they talk to people. It just kept getting worse as the season went on."
