LSU's defense was meant to outmaneuver, outrun, and run circles around other teams' offenses. An insane secondary made that team great.


Alabama's was built to crush teams and slowly squeeze the life out of them as the game went on. Alabama's linebackers is what made that team great.

2011 LSU would get pressure with just the front 4, and let the secondary eat. There's a reason they had more interceptions than receptions more than 10 yards down field.

2011 Bama would just bludgeon you and break your will by halftime.



I agree that both were all-time great defenses.
