Not sure what the SEC was thinking sending South Carolina there anyway......

Bottom of the barrel.

Belk Bowl didn't want us because SC fans are too close to get hotels and stay for a whole weekend.

I'm surprised the Liberty Bowl didn't get UT but I suppose that the hotels thing happened to them too.

SC fans certainly would have traveled to Jacksonville more than to Shreveport but the Gator Bowl knew how excited the Vol fans were about 6-6 and would sell a lot of tickets.

Sadly these things factor into future bowl bids. I am not surprised by the early sales, but I do expect them to pick up. USCe fans jumped off the wagon quickly this year around here. I also don't believe the Belk Bowl was an option once UGA declined the Outback.

But the trophy is a pair of pressed Dockers slacks! Who wouldn't want a chance to win that for the ol' trophy case?

Clearly worth a weekend stay in Charlotte.
