eh, I mean obviously LSU benefits from being in the SEC, but it would hurt the conference if they moved too

LSU is the state school of Louisiana. Auburn is just a little brother school in Alabama. The SEC could do without them.

LSU I would argue has more rivals in conference than most if not all of the SEC.
Ole miss alabama auburn florida even a&m & arkansas - all pretty legit longstanding rivalries. That there is not one team that stands out among the rest is of little significance. There is no way in fk they'd give up these games to play in the big12

I think the best candidates for Big 12 expansion is Tulane and Memphis. Doesn't make the conference immediately stronger in football but there are other benefits such as expanding the Big 12 footprint into SEC territory, basketbaal. Eventually both schools will field stronger programs.

Good grief the road trips!
Although I'd love to see LSU fans in Provo and BYU fans in Baton Rouge every other year.

I vote YES. And Think the Tigers should seriously consider it. You guys should come with us or should we approach the Hogs?

This would almost make it worthwhile. Provo is gorgeous by the way.

Why don't aTm and Ark go back? then they will get 12 again.

You can't go back to something you were never a part of. Learn your history. The Big 12 was what was formed by the hopelessly broken SWC and Big 8 teams after they lost their Flagship program to the SEC.
Arkansas has been in the SEC four years longer than the Big 12 has existed.

Hey dumbass,in case you didn't notice you're on an LSU site that can definitely live without you.

What about the rest of the old SWC: Houston or Rice or SMU? Texas doesn't want any other Texas teams? If they are going to let Texas pussify their whole conference then they deserve what they get (out of playoff in favor of winners of CGs)

More Texas teams don't bring anything to the league, since expansion is now about TV revenue and media coverage. I'm intrigued by the Memphis idea. I think Cincinnatti is a better one than Tulane.

frick Texas.
They lobbied hard to get Notre Dame to end their self-imposed bowl ban to play against Texas in the 1969 Cotton Bowl when LSU at 9-1 was all lined up to play them. Texas was scared LSU would shut them out again like they did in '63, ruin their championship hopes and even up the series record.
Texas refused to play LSU for 40 years, from their shutout loss in '63 to the 2002 Cotton Bowl. 40 fricking years Texas and LSU didn't play. That's absurd.
And now those coward bastards want us to join their league so they can jerk us around?
