Ranking the SEC basketball arenas...

We often times rank the stadium and argue over it for 20 pages.
I thought I would see how far the basketball arenas go.
1. Kentucky - never been but I heard it holds like 24,000 people. Which is insane. That number could be wrong, going off of old memory.
2. Tennessee - this is high to me only becaUe I got to go into it before a Bama tennessee game. Even met Bruce Pearl. Kinda liked how the suites are set up.
3. Arkansas - I saw Walmart does their corporate cult rally's there. Looks like an nba arena.
4. Vandy - raised floor. The odd design for the upper decks. Unique. Would be higher if the team could actually win a big game there.
5. Mizzou - never been in it but it looks decent on TV.
6. South Carolina - kinda like Arkys. Looks like an nba arena.
7. Auburn - small but is probably very clean .
8. Florida - pictures make it look like a bio-dome. I'm sure it gets rowdy but the program is deserving of a new one.
9. Atm - this is low because it looks odd on campus. It's just weird how it sits on the edge of campus. From the outside it looks generic as hell.
10. LSU- cool set up against tiger stadium and the habitat. But I think it is time yall built a new one.
11. Mississippi state - yall are building a great baseball stadium. But what's funny is that your basketball program was very legit for many years and it seems like yall never cared. The arena looks dated as hell.
12. Ole miss - never knew how bad it was until Marshall Henderson. Yall are building a new one so that kept you off the bottom of the list.
13. Coleman coliseum- I don't care if Bear Bryant drew the blueprints. It is way too big (15,000) and the layout sucks. Needs Upper decks, lower attendance by 5000. I'm sure a good engineer could retrofit that into the current building. But probably best to tear it down and start over. The improvements they made 10 years ago don't show up on TV and are weak in person. The place looks dead on tv and the students don't look to be involved at all(the students are supposed to visible and involved in college basketball).

I think Vandy's is awkward and ugly as frick. But I've only seen on TV and never been there.

Tennessee, Arky, Vandy, and probably the new Auburn are probably all better than Rupp. Just because a lot of people can be in there doesn't make it awesome. It is bland, and not that great. It's what you get when something is built in a generic architectural time. Same goes for Dean Dome in Chapel Hill.

Completely forgot about UGA.
Yall are middle of the pack. It does not look to be able to hold 15,000 so I am envious.

List is not legit because Ole Miss is 15th in a 14 team league.
Thankfully this is our last season in it.

PMAC sucks but we're stuck with it for a while as they just built the basketball practice facility onto the back of it. The practice facility is really nice though.

Coleman Coliseum used to be an awesome venue for college basketball... back when Wimp coached there. The place was hopping for every game. Loved going to those.
Now, even though the renovations have made it a much nicer place, the winning atmosphere is just... meh. Haven't been excited to see a game there in years.

Love the inside of our arena. The outside could use a serious face lift though

I have been in Rupp, and yes it most certainly is for a big game (I was there for the UNC/UK game with the Davis block). If we are going with passionate fans, I would put them at the top in at least the SEC (from limited experience), but that arena is average, and if I recall isn't even technically on campus.

I was at the game against florida in 2002. Great atmosphere and win. But that was 12 years ago and the program has not touched that since.
I wish they would turn the fricking lights on. If your not on the first 15 rows you are sitting in relative darkness.
Our student body hates basketball too. That does not help.

Yeah I remember walking up to the arena thinking it looked like a HS gym. Was impressed inside.
I walked down onto the court and Bruce Pearl was giving an interview. This is right after BBq-gate. After the interview I walked up to him and asked for a picture. I was half drunk. No one was around so We did a selfie together. Probably the only selfie I have ever done.
Said thanks and walked out.
