They were actually really good at basketball before the football program started up. Matter of fact, after football started, the basketball program started to slide.

Don't care either way, just sayin.

Last time AU played UAB?

I posted this earlier and it got no response:

UAB Donations

If you Aubs and LSU fans are so desperate to save UAB, put your money where your mouth is. Make a note on your donations that you want them to reinstate football

Why blame Bama? They play in a shite hole, get about 3k people per home game, City is already broke, how can you justify keeping the program open? UAB will never have the support close to what Troy has. They need to focus on Basketball

They averaged over 20k a game this year.

Way more fans will attend Bama baseball than UAB football games.

The sudden and very obviously fake moral outrage from some quarters here is hilarious. There's a Bama guy here who attended UAB. His outrage, I trust. Most of you are just ridiculously transparent in your motives.

CUSA will drop them if they don't field a football team.

Not being able to sell football in Alabama is like a woman not being able to sell pussy. If you can't do it, you need to stop trying

In sales, did you go to any games? Wasn't that in the stadium, except against Troy and Al A&m

Who gives a shite about the players? An untold amount of people are laid off daily due to budget and department cuts. It's fricking life. Do what every other laid off human being does: find something else. Loyalty and compassion to your employees only keeps you in fricking debt. You can't have a heart and run a business. Just as banks can't be loyal to those who are buried with loan debts. It's cutthroat to the end. Deal with it.

Now if we can shut down that entire shithole of a city...

well to be honest, I would not want to tell a team of trained marksmen that they had been cut in person either

Neither of these "facts" are accurate. Plus, UAB didn't have a single home crowd over 30K, let alone "multiple times".

Here are the numbers and make no mistake, the higher-end attendance figures are more of a result of the road team's fans traveling to the game than UAB fans actually supporting the program.

Troy 27,133
Alabama A&M 29,604
FIU 16,133
North Texas 20,365
Louisiana Tech 9,457
Marshall 28,355

This. If there were a fund drive to save the program, I'd donate. If I donated now it would just go towards locker room waterfalls in Tuscaloosa.
