No, he's still a top 3-4 cover corner. He plays bump and run man to man coverage with the best wide receivers in the world. Eventually a QB is gonna make a throw to beat him. shite happens.

I would be willing to bet that if somebody made a statistical breakdown of targets/plays where Peterson's man was the #1 option vs. how many plays "burn him", Peterson wins many, many more than he loses.

He doesn't have to break the pass up or pick it off to win that battle. All those times his guy was the first option and the ball was forced to go somewhere else...that's a win.

Peterson doesn't get plays off covering the #2 guy. He is playing best on best the whole game. Win some, lose some.

You clearly dont watch the NFL then. He becomes the highest paid corner, then immediately has one if the worst seasons for a player that is the highest paid at their position. He is a classic, looks like Tarzan plays like Jane type of player.

People don't understand how much somebody like Peterson helps your scheme. He doesn't have safety help over the top. He doesn't get help to double team the best receiver. Almost anywhere Megatron or any other elite receiver like him goes, they get double teamed. They plays Arizona, and it's single coverage the entire game. They are eventually gonna get the better of PP7.

But it's all those other plays where PP7 goes unnoticed that he makes the biggest impact. Instead of having 2 guys covering Johnson, that opens up another guy to blitz, or double cover the next best guy, or help in run support.

There aren't 5 other guys in the league who can step in and do what Peterson can do as far as affecting the entire game with just his presence.

Oh look, Jordy Nelson just burned Revis for an end of half touchdown a little while ago. Revis is a top 5 corner. He plays like PP7. He's going best on best all day. Eventually the other best wins.

Revis has not given up half the plays Peterson has. I get that he shadows number 1 Wrs all game he is just not very good at it.

Is this because of the game julio caught a few balls and you guys lost.. Yea i remember, it's when PP7 made Trent Richardson his bitch and put him out of the game.. probably one of the many injuries that Saban made him play through b4 he headed to the pros broken down.

I agree about Haden, but Peterson is still top 3. And saying he is abused often is a stretch every corner has their bad games.

What? We don't care when a player helps Alabama and then has a mediocre NFL career. I want them all to dominate in the NFL. But if they don't, its fine. So when LSU fans start laughing at Alabama's mediocre NFL players, we can honestly say "who the frick cares?" And it's partly because those guys helped Alabama own LSU, ya know?

And when Alabama has guys do well in the NFL, its fun to talk about. And when its against said player's rival who he has a history with and who LSU fans think is the best CB ever and he dominates said CB....its REALLY fun to talk about.
