I honestly thought the line would go down after it opened at 6.5. I'm stunned that it has kept moving up.
Vegas can't predict the future but they do know their betters tendencies. In all seriousness, this was a prime opportunity for them to make a lot of money. They knew they could start the line at 6.5 and it would grow, meanwhile they back the other side and clean up.
Not saying that Bama won't win, but covering is highly unlikely.

Now that's some serious bullshite right there. Alabama is the most bet on football team in the country so I guarantee you most of the money comes from out of state. At the start of the year when we played WVU the line kept coming down which really surprised me. Got all the way to 12. Damn if the smart money didn't get it right that day betting on WVU who only lost by 10. But it was a very close game until very late. WVU only had 6 4* players in 4 years on their roster so someone knew what they were doing.

quote:What the frick are you talking about? Do you even know what makes the line move? If the majority of money (not people) takes a particular side, the line will move toward that direction. i.e.-if money thinks Alabama covers and bets on it, then that line will move UP; if it thinks State will, then the line will move Down...it ain't complicated.

no, it's really not. Bama has dominated this series and plays at a completely different level at home this year.
Bama will win this game fairly easily, scratch that, comfortably.
24-10 @ halftime and Bama keeps churning, eating clock and finishes with a 34-20 win.
