Will the SEC adapt?

We will have to or the SEC will go down hill.
1- The short term... teams that would dominate in other conferences will be left out
2- In short term.. SEC teams will have to go through top teams to reach a play off that has the top 4. Example... MSU in the first year of the playoffs will have had to beat 5 top 10 teams to only go face another top team in the SECCG...Usually ranked. When that's done.... face 2 of the top 4 teams in the nation.
3- In the short term, it helps weak conferences. They have to get up for one game.... maybe 2... at most 3.
LONG TERM!!!!
The SEC will lose talent. Player will realize that going to conferences that only have to get up for a couple of games, and not take the beating = easier path to National title without the wear on his body... then NFL.
Solution(s)....
1- Sec Will need to shift the conference. Look at dividing the conference in to North, South, East, and West. That would level the SEC to the ACC, Pac schedule strength. We have 12 teams, each division gets 4. Those 2 games are not to be made up with games VS other SEC teams, but games from other conferences.
2- Keep the East and West, just eliminate 2 sec games within the divisions. Each team plays 4 of the 6 teams in their divisions and 2 from the other.
3- Then the the NCAA will need to add more team to the play off system.

Other conferences have not fared very well in championship types games against us.

The SEC has too many built-in advantages to not be dominant for years to come. Too much football talent comes from the South.

All sorts of scared, ignorance and stupidity in this post.

I do agree with your sentiments. I think that the more games that are added in the playoff system the more the SEC is at an inherent disadvantage. The inevitable 8 team playoff + the SEC championship game after a normal brutal SEC slate will prove to be too much for a college athlete eventually... and it could lead to talent defections for the conference. I have no doubt that this is a recruiting tool for Florida State right now.
Look at Ole Miss. Outstanding team but is now a M.A.S.H unit. These close games week in/week out against top tier teams with other 5* players wear on teams. This is something other conferences don't experience on quite the same level. JMO. Not that they don't play good football in other conferences... it's just the brand of football in the SEC. A 14 game season is asking a lot for a college athlete. And having enough left in the tank for the semi-finals is a legit concern.

Because we were under the bowl system and the BCS.

Uh, no. NFL scouts aren't impressed by easy wins and championships. They look at talent and ability and performance against other power teams. Recruits know this, and it is why they will continue to choose the SEC.

Yea, kids from Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Florida will just start leaving for UConn and Purdue because they think they can win titles and not get beat up.

I'm guessing that's because your team plays in the not so mighty PAC.
But.. I'm all eyes.... put it out there.
