If MSU gets credit for beating number 8 ranked LSU, then why does LSU not get credit for beating a top 5 Ole Miss?
Am I missing something here?
TAMU was top 25 when Bama best them, WVU is top 25 now but Bama got no credit for beating them, in fact was ridiculed pretty bad for not blowing them out and allowing right at 400 yds, which now seems like a very good performance for the first game of the season.
What matters more rank at time of game or current/final ranks?

The committee's job is to select the top 4 teams for the playoff. That's it. Who gives a frick who's ranked 5-25? Seeing as how Mississippi State was not ranked in the AP top 25 3 weeks into the season yet sit atop the playoff rankings tells me that they assess what teams have done up,to every point of the season. Which is all we can ask. Most tards do,one of 2 things: 1) they look at a team and say, "this team looks like a top 15 team. Based on my many years of watching college football, they look like they should be ranked #14. Well, your experience means diddly poo. They should only be ranked relative to the other teams in CFB THAT year. A team that "looks" like a top 5 team might not be a top 25 team in a particular year. Or they may be top 5 one year. Rankings are not a judgement of how good a particular team is, they are ONLY a judgement of how good a team is relative to all the other teams that particular year.
The most egregious error tards make when ranking teams is this ridiculous assumption that wins or losses should move you up or down a certain amount of spots. Like there is some sort of mathmatical equation to be used. We were #15, we lost to number 25, we should move down 5 spots. Or, we were #15, we beat #5, we should move up 7 spots. That is absurd. There should never be a rears or penalty for winning or losing. There should be a REASSESMENT every week based on the most recent data. Again, rankings are to be relative to every other team and what they have accomplished up to that point. No rewards or penalties, just an honest assessment and ranking based on the most current data. And it's should be extremely fluid. It appears that it will be. If anything, there is a bias in favor of the SEC West. The committee has determined its good. No team from there should be complaining AT ALL about where they are ranked. Win more games, you will be reassessed.
