Coach Pearl suffered a back injury

Per JGT it's semi serious and has him out of action for now. His status for coaching this week and for the exhibition game against West Alabama is uncertain. Surgery is not required. Details on how the injury occurred were not given.

AUBURN – Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl underwent successful back surgery on Tuesday morning. The surgery was performed by Dr. Colby Maher of the Andrews Institute in Pensacola, Fla.
Pearl is expected to be back on the sideline for Auburn’s exhibition game against West Alabama on Friday.
