Where is Whitehead?

Our secondary has been absolutely awful the last 2 games and we can't blame it on the pass rush this past Saturday because I felt like we did a good job of getting to Wallace. We have been getting torched lately. Why haven't we inserted Whitehead back in the starting lineup not that he will make that much of a difference but he has obviously been a starter for 3 years for a reason and would be an upgrade at the Safety position and provide some senior leadership out there that we may be lacking. I think this has to happen soon

Probably won't play on Defense again if the rumors are true.

The story: He mouthed off to coaches and got fired from the defense.
If that is truly the case, I'm in favor of this move in the long run. You always wonder how programs can get sick from the inside, and what could have been done to prevent it. If benching him is doing what we can to enforce a motivated/committed/respectful culture, then it's a small price to pay.

It's funny everyone is asking where Whitehead is because our pass D sucks when the biggest complaint about Whitehead before his suspension was that he's only worth a damn in run support
How many times have you heard "Whitehead took a terrible angle and got beat!"

So is he going to transfer? I understand this in the short-term but if you have no plans to return him to his natural position just release the kid and wish him luck elsewhere

He's a senior with no eligibility left...

He's a 4th-year senior with a good deal of SEC starting experience. Piled up some respectable stats early this year and I'm sure would rather not rock the boat and leave the team when he has the draft coming up.
He'll fade out of view. It'll lead to some tough combine interviews, but way easier than if he actually was severed from the team.

Well unfortunately it's not just pass coverage that we are suffering in. Lots of missed tackles Saturday

Screw Whitehead! Not sure if many people follow athletes on instagram, twitter, etc.... but Whitehead also seems more interested in whatever dumb fraternity he got in more than football. He must be dumb as a sack of shite to ruin his senior season like that. Good Riddance

Gotcha. Didn't realize he was a senior.
If that's the case then we're likley doing him a favor of keeping him fresh for the combine and limiting the amount of tape of busted coverage he'll have
Either way it's just a weird situation

I was just coming here to post a similar thread. It's not just the poor coverage, but the whiffed tackles leading to an extra 10-20+ yards that are frustrating. I can't imagine what Whitehead did to not have paid the price at this point.

I've been trying to join the board for a bit, figured my name may have been holding it up...
