Serious question about past college football seasons

For those of you who have followed football heavily for much longer than I, has there ever been a year where every team in FBS (that mattered) had 2 or more losses? I is mathematically possible yet very unlikely this year. Wouldn't that be weird?

In 07 Ohio state had 1 loss
LSU and a bunch of other schools had two. Undefeated in regulation

a loss in the big 10 is really like 2 losses

Yeah, WVU blew it against Pitt allowing LSU to back their way into the NC game.

They did end the season with 2 losses though.

2007 was a down year in football.

Kansas finished with 1 loss in 2007. But they didn't matter.

Has any 2 loss team made it to the championship game?

Oklahoma. And they got
BTFO
T
F
O
by USC. If memory serves. 2004. The year an undefeated auburn got screwed. Are the auburn fans too young to remember this?

Lol wut? That team murdered everyone on their schedule until the USC game. There were three undefeated teams in the top 3, hence why one was going to get screwed.

No not that I can remember. I'm 26 but I've read tons of books on cfb history and back in the day there were less 1AA teams and the haves and have-nots were much more heavily separated so there was always a team that managed to go undefeated or lose only one game. At least I'm pretty sure.
He/she said every team that mattered not one team.
But it is possible now a days but I don't think it will happen this year.

I was. Simply asking a question to see if anyone remembered a situation where there was a 2 loss team playing for the national championship. If it wee to happen would it be a first type of thing?
