Because you are no longer undefeated but still ranked the current playoff, meaning that with the current loss you have, an additional one will end your season. That would mean unless you run the table from here on out, an LSU loss will factor into having a huge impact in your current season.
I'm not even arguing rivalry bullshite right now, just trying to get the point across that a single loss is detrimental to any SEC team with hopes for a national championship.
This isnt tough to understand

quote:correct
It is factually incorrect to say that loss does not have an effect on your season. If you were to win out (which, do you really see that happening lol), then yes, come back and gloat how this loss was meaningless
quote:correct again
But as of now, you have one loss. You get another this week or the week after, you have another. I mean, it's not rocket science
quote:If we were to beat LSU and lose to Auburn and go on to win out and Auburn finishes 11-1 and State finishes 11-1 then we would lose the 3 way tie breaker. Hence Losing to Auburn with or without the LSU loss means nothing.
By saying this loss had no effect on your season you're essentially saying you can remove the LSU game out of your season and nothing changes. If you lose to Auburn or State, then that obviously won't be the case because you would now have two losses because of the loss you were already handed
If we were to beat LSU, Auburn and lose to an 11-0 OR 10-1 State then We would again lose the tiebreaker. Hence (again) the LSU win/loss meakes no difference.
The only way a difference is made is if we beat Auburn and State but lose to Arky. But if we beat Auburn and State we wouldnt lose to Arky inbetween. But in the off chance we do and that cost us the Champ game then yes you can bump the thread and i was wrong. But that wont happen.
And that is why losing to LSU doesnt matter

He's gotta be trolling. His post history is quite amusing, too. He started playing the "we're still ranked higher!!" card almost right after the game. And in all of my time on this site, I've never seen a poster change his location section on his profile to brag about being ranked higher before the season was even over

True or false, if you lose to AU this week, did this loss have an effect on your season?
You lost a conference game. It has an effect on your season, quit acting like a dumbass. Are you gonna argue that Bama's loss has no effect on their season also?
Sure, guy. I bet your predictions last week were money

No it didnt. Cause again with a loss to Auburn even with a win against LSU we still most likely dont make SEC Champ game.

It did. But that because we dont have 2 losses so we win the tiebreaker over them.
With yall already having 2 losses we dont have to worry about yall and a tiebreaker when trying to win the West, If yall only had 1 loss then EVERYTHING is totally different. The loss to yall doesnt matter because yall already have 2 losses

Dumbass. If you lose to Auburn, it means you have 2 losses now. Which means yes, it does have an effect. Because combined with the LSU loss, you now have 2. I feel like I'm talking to a rock.

Lmao You're overthinking it, dude.
Bama's loss has an effect because we aren't playing an undefeated Bama team. We're playing a 1-loss Bama team that now has no room for error and another loss.
Y'all's loss has an effect on y'all's season because AU isn't playing an undefeated Ole Miss team. They're playing a 1-loss Ole Miss team that now has no room for error and another loss.

Your entire post contradicts itself

We had no room for a loss against Auburn or State anyway. so again LSU loss means nothing

please explain. Which part?

You could've lost to either and still made it to Atlanta
But keep saying it means nothing. When you end up losing to one of them and a little lightbulb goes off your head that says, "oh shite. We already have one loss. Now we have two. That loss to LSU affected our season in that we're not a one-loss team but a two-loss team now. No playoffs for us", maybe you'll revisit this thread and wonder why you displayed so much stupidity.

Nobody is talking about LSU. Any loss has an impact on any team with the current playoff selection process. This has nothing to do with your personal future projections.

I'm done trying to explain why a loss for a football team in a power conference can impact the post season.

ok bye.
Loss means nothing. Win out in Atl and Playoff.
A loss to Auburn, Arky, or State will kill the SEC champ/ Playoff goal but losing to LSU means nothing

Loss means something. You lose another game and you're a 2-loss team with no playoffs. Are all ole miss fans this retarded?
