Sometimes players and coaches can be awesome (and yes, that goes for most teams).

Think about your childhood. The most carefree years of your life spent doing things in a way that only children can. Learning about things for the first time, experiencing things for the first time, developing the love for a sport, for a team. Dreaming of playing that sport for that team. Wyatt Crippen's 10 years have not been so carefree. He has spent much of the last four years in a whirlwind of doctor visits, hospitals and chemotherapy. He knows more about brain tumors than any child ever should, he's fighting his third.
-SNIP-
"The love, I mean, they acted like they had known Wyatt for years," David Crippen said. "They were so glad to see him and he really got pumped up seeing everybody. I think it picked up his spirits. They tell us to keep his spirits up and that's tough to do after four years of hospitals and needles. But he realizes the battle he's been though and the experiences, he can do anything and be a part of a team, to be a normal kid."
Doctors told his family that it was a miracle the way he was able to recover from the removal of his first tumor. His current tumor is inoperable, but is treatable through his current course of chemotherapy. He will have an evaluation later this year to check the tumor's growth and to determine future courses of treatment.
But for one day, all of that was out of his mind. All that mattered was a big smile that just wouldn't come off of his face. He was a Tennessee Volunteer, and he had the jersey to prove it.
"He'll be wearing it to school tomorrow, I guarantee you," David Crippen said. "And the whole school will know about it."

Thanks and I agree. He's beaten it twice so hopefully he'll make it three. To me, stories like this are a big aspect of what CFB is all about. Especially in the South, our players should always be a big part of the community. Makes me proud to be a Vol and an SEC fan.

God bless him and his family, his friends and his medical team.

He told his dad he could be/wanted to be our team's secret weapon. In my mind, he's already accomplished that. And while they say his tumor is inoperable this time I won't give up hope. I knew a girl in college who had an inoperable brain tumor (a pediatric one at that - how that works I don't know) and she managed to beat it.
It took tracking down one of only a handful of specialists but hopefully the same will happen for Wyatt. I know in my heart is IS possible.
Bless this child.

I have a friend who's daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was 6 years old. She is a Freshman in High School now. The work that the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation does is amazing. Every year they have a fund raiser PBTF Ride for Kids. Among other things, they fund college scholarships for survivors. They said that the incredible thing is, now they are having so many kids survive and go on to college...
God bless this kid and his family. God bless those who are treating him and making a difference in his life.

Prayers for that young man. Well done Vols. We get on here every day and argue over petty things.... my team will beat yours, my coach is better than yours, etc.
In the big picture, none of that matters much. We are a blessed people folks. I woke up this morning and my daughter is healthy, my wife is healthy, my parents are both still alive, God has been good.... the outcome of football games doesn't mean a whole lot. Bless that family for their endurance and faith!
