If future schedule played a part they would not have had so many SEC West team s in the top 25 just a couple of weeks ago. The voters would have realized they would bump each other off.

Not necessarily the case. The voters were basically saying that the SEC west was the top division in college ball, and could end up with multiple ranked teams despite losing games to other ranked teams in their division. That's why Ole Miss and MSU have moved up so high based on victories over other SEC West teams. But if Ole Miss or MSU lost their qb in practice this week, for example, there's a good chance they would drop in the polls even if they comfortably beat Kentucky or Tennessee next weekend. Pollsters would consider the increased likelihood of more future losses than previously expected.
