As a former club athlete I think this is bullshite and a horrible PR move by UA officials. Money makes the world go round I guess and the tuition these kids pay just isn't enough.

That is bullshite. The school has no problem slapping their logo on some tacky, God awful merchandise, but they forbid students from using it when actually representing the school.
UA can't get out of it's own way sometimes.

I guess that is why the hockey team has been trying to sell their old merchandise, saying they are going to have a new logo. It's a shame. They had some awesome jerseys.

I guess this is what happens when the AD is the founder of The Collegiate Licensing Company. I guess he wasn't getting his cut.

I'm a former club sport athlete too and hate this decision as well. On the one hand, they say they won't allow use of trademarked logos like the script A because they don't want club sports being confused with varsity sports. I'm actually ok with that. But then they say that club sports will all have to become uniform: only allowed to use official UA colors, only allowed to use official (i.e. generic) UA club sports logo, etc... I say if the women's ultimate frisbee team wants to wear neon green shirts, then let them. If clubs want to keep using their old logos instead of the generic one, then let them. Club sports are different from varsity sports. They're less mainstream, less corporate, more independent. They've created unique identities in some cases over decades. That shouldn't be stamped out because of some non-existent threat to the Athletic Department's image.

That's the dumbest shite I've ever seen. Hope the school gets a ton of backlash from this.
