Coming to St. Simons the weekend of 10/17 for a wedding. Looking for a place to stay that sleeps 7/8 and near all the restaurants, shops, etc. Don't want to break the bank cause I really don't even want to be there. Any suggestions?

Can't help you with lodging but you need to hit up Edawg and book a charter. Bulls reds should be up by then, you won't regret it

Live on St Simons on and off so I know the area. I would suggest The Village Inn & Pub. I don't know the cost but I don't see it being nearly as expensive as the resorts and it's a little bit more chill than your typical Best Western.

The place is in the Village which is the south end of the island where the pier, many of the churches and resutrants, the beaches, and most of the bars are there. The Inn itself does have a pub that often has live music and plenty of people come in just to chill with stiff drinks. It's a pretty good place to have a drink. I'm also certain it's close to where y'all will be holding the wedding because all weddings are usually near that area.

Try the Village Inn. Their rates drop in the fall. There's also a Hampton not too far from downtown. Eat at Sal's Pizzeria and Southern Soul BBQ.

Also check out the Ocean Inn and Suites or St Simons Inn by the Lighthouse.

Both are near the pier. The pier has restaurants, a few stores, entertainment, bike rentals, and a few bars.

You'll have to drive to "the Village" aka The redfern village. It has a good collection of pro dawg bars there.

There is a condo complex on the other side of Redfern Village. Very easy to get a rental or two there and within walking distance of some great shopping for the women folk and restaurants and bars for the guys. There check out Bubba Garcia's for some dirty mexican and good bar scene now that they have an upstairs bar. Young crowd there. Gnat's Landing is under new ownership and has had a complete overhaul. Usually a live band on the weekends and good food. Good place to watch football. A little bit older crowd than Bubba's. Catch 228 is also there and is a good seafood restaurant wuth a good bar as well.

Delaney's is the best restauarant on the island. Call TODAY and you MIGHT get a reservation for that weekend. The Ocean Lodge has a great rooftop restaurant with a fantastic view. Georgia Sea Grille is in the Village (at the Pier, NOT Rredfern Village) with probably the best seafood on the island. Also, you need to at least get a drink at Coastal Kitchen which is at the marina when you come on to the island. The food is good there as well.

Found a place to sleep called Ocean Walk. Eating at the rehearsal dinner Friday night and the Reception Saturday night. Skipping the wedding to watch the game. I need to know the best bar to hang out and watch that's near my room.
