I know the LSU - Ole Miss game with Eli was huge, would this match that?

Probably not this early in the season.

When was the last Top 10 matchup in Oxford? Can't remember exactly how high Ole Miss was ranked in the Eli-Saban game.

LSU in 2003 was bigger. It's probably second though.

Will be the biggest win for Ole Miss in 50 years.
That LSU game in '03 was for the SEC title.
That LSU game in '03 was for the SEC title.

Well, SEC West, but yea.

The attendance for this game will be bigger, but it will not come close to the emotion or importance of that LSU game

This guy.
tGrind binds the Mississippi schools to bring down the evil forces that are Alabama and LSU

Makes sense - a loss for either team in this one definitely doesn't shut the door.
That was the end all be all (and LSU and all).

The atmosphere was incredible for that game. I've never seen anything like it, and LSU fans that were there will say the same.

I'm the guy whose theory on the Landmass Uprising is that we both have to be good and feed off each other, and make USM irrelevant.
I will be cheering for the Rebels in two weeks.

Pretty sure they've already done that to themselves.

When was the last Top 10 matchup in Oxford?

I dont know if they will make a sign in their stadium for this loss

No. There's nowhere near the animosity between OM and 'Bama that there is between OM and LSU, so the emotional component isn't quite as profound...
...now, that's not to say there isn't any, but don't take what you see here as a good indication. Everyone has animosity toward everyone else on tRant.

Naw I've been to plenty of Ole Miss - Alabama games in both Ttown and Oxford and know the OM-LSU dynamic.
More of a question of nationally viewed games, which is bigger. That one was for the West and was clearly bigger, but this will be two Top 10 teams. Hasn't happened in Oxford in a while. Should be fun.
