I'm going to go ahead and predict we don't get the mythical large list of businesses that close because of BBBQ

Here's a LINK and I can provide others regarding the attendance if need be.
Do you have some figures that are different?
It also notes that there were riders from all 50 states contrary to Wang's theory that the riders were from Muskogee, OK.

Heathens, all of them.
Why next thing you know they'll be sponsoring murder, mayhem, and global terrorism.

Sorry but 400,000 attendees is just laughable.

I wish you would update this thread with pics from the "rally.". I'm sure you will have a lot fun!

Come on now, 70k visitors for a football game (many of whom don't spend the night in NWA, but drive home because they are all from Arkansas)fill up the hotels all around here for big games.
How can you suggest that 400k people, literally 6 times as many people as attend a Razorback game, aren't in town spending money non stop?
That's what the study says, dummy!!!11
Seriously, the number is probably a lot closer to 50,000 people. If there are 400,000 people attending, then 350,000 of them must be camping out, so those numbers from the "study" are out the window anyway.

Well that may be true--I'm sure they are estimates with no gate numbers to count but regardless the event seems to be well attended and a success.
On another note can I presume from your sig line that Okies are OK?

You can have that list right after you show me the massive bump in tax revenue from an event that allegedly brings (lol) 60 million into the local economy. Surely that makes a massive impact in sales tax collections and can be easily demonstrated with available sales tax data.

Letter from Executive Director
The 2013 rally was just lots of fun, and we can’t wait for the 2014 rally, which will mark the 15th anniversary of Bikes Blues and BBQ. So, do you suppose we’ll have some special things going on to celebrate that milestone? Well, heck yes!
But the most important thing to us is the funding of local charities. Following the 2013 rally, organizers passed out checks totally $114,000 to local charities. And, in addition the rally helped generate another $94,000 to other local charities in a variety of ways. That charitable aspect along with boosting the local economy (oh, an economic impact of somewhere between 69 and 80 million dollars) is what the rally is truly all about. Well, that and throwing one of the best parties in the country.
So, mark your calendar for 2014
Closer to 80 million dollars, proof right there, he said it.

If you really believe that, then it wouldn't be the huge problem that you're making it out to be. So which is it? On one hand you say it's terrible because there are so many bikes, but when people bring up money you say it's actually not that many people. Can't have it both ways.
