2.We had a phantom clipping call, after yall intercepted a ball. That's right...after. WTF? We aren't blocking for anyone then.
The referee did not do a good job of explaining this penalty. But it is illegal for a defender to "chop" or take the legs out of a blocker. While I truly believe the SC player was making an attempt at a tackle and winds up having a UGA player fall over him, this is the rule that they were calling. So yes the penalty was called after the interception.

better team lost a road game due to 2 missed, easy field goals from the best kicker in the country...shite happens...
better team will still make it to Atlanta. All good. Just beat Clemson at the end of the season for us as your end of the year prize...would mean a lot to us.

The real question is, why is UGA always on the wrong side of “instant classics?” i.e. Bama ’12, Auburn ’13, and to a lesser extent SCAR ’14
I dunno, I thought you ended up on the right side of LSU at UGA last year, and that was a haymaker of an SEC game. It's just that things went South after that because Gurley had the high ankle sprain.

USC won that's the end of it. Sometimes the the inferior team pulls off the upset.
You're right. Y'all won last year.

That was the correct call. Refs got this one right.

So once again UGA fans want to cry over a loss to the Gamecocks? They did this all season long, and then all subsequent off-season long after losing to USC in 2011 in Athens. I'm starting to grow weary of all the UGA crying...
As did South carolina last year, right? "They ran away from Clowney!"
You simply are being dishonest if you claim it goes only one way. It is the nature of the beast. Watch any fan base after their team loses.
As for the rest? You are only speculating. Any call or play changes every other play in a game.
Nobody can say what would have happened.
Keep in mind...we didn't stat this thread. YOUR fans did.

Georgia fans didn't start this thread. South Carolina fans did!

And we already know that the ball was short of the pole on the 1 st down measurement.
It was a 1st down. There is really no argument.

It very well may have been, but nobody can seem to find a rule on this mythical last chain link bullshite.

It doesn't matter in my opinion. It was a bad spot. It should have never even come down to a measurement.

The spot is a completely different debate. I am really just curious about what actually is a first down measurement. Really just for my own personal knowledge. I am not crying, whining or moaning. Gamecocks beat us. I got it. I just want to know what the actual rule is. The rule I posted earlier in this thread speaks of the poles and no mention of the shite that Gary Danielson was spewing.

I'm just relieved that all is well in Athens.

I completely understand this. As has been mentioned in this thread, a much more egregious example of this gave Michigan a first down in the 2012/13 Outback Bowl. I always thought that the ball had to nose PAST the inside of the pole. If the chains themselves are the mark, it's good to know.

Uh. You held the lead for 5 minutes in the first after that you never led again. You spent 48 out of 60 minutes of a game down to South Carolina, half of that down by two scores.

So you're good with Missouri going to Atlanta again.

This. Wilds got the 1st down on his 3rd down run.

If they're the better team. Why not?

It's odd that a CBS announcer (with probably a producer in his ear), the referees and later ESPN all agreed last link is first down. They didn't even get a chance to talk it over.
