NEGS for TAMU:

- ???
- More travel--by far--than anyone else in the conference, short of Missouri
- Walking away from rivalries that have existed for over 100 years
- Interacting with fans who--on the whole--seem much less intelligent (not everyone). That's something I never saw coming. My apologies to those to whom this comment doesn't apply and/or offends; but it's been an eye-opener. And I'm not one who typically believes stereotypes.
- Being in a conference where relatively few people know a thing about our university, our past, who we are, etc.

NEGS for SEC:

- Inundation with TAMU fans and 'tradition' - no rivalries or tradition of value added
- SEC West becomes more cannibalistic than ever, both in games and recruiting. Nine game conf. schedule would be downright murder
- Perceived influence creep into Texas only benefits Aggies, not the conference like they thought it would.
- Further having to subdivide TV money and influence
- How are you being "inundated" with another school's traditions? And once again [I know "rivalries" is an important topic on this board], why in the heck does the average SEC fan care about Texas A&M's rivalries? Does that truly affect you?
- Iron sharpens iron.
- If you think all SEC schools aren't benefitting from our young kids and high school players watching the Ags play other SEC schools, you couldn't be more wrong. Talk about a gravy train with biscuit wheels.
- You're now "sub-dividing" a substantially larger pot of money.

What a strange post.
If I were you, I'd just ignore Texas A&M.
I can't imagine that the addition to the conference does much (anything?) to affect your day-to-day existence.

No only was the addition a good one but it made a ton of sense. The conference now has a footprint in a huge market that had been previously the territory of a rival conference. Texas A&M has a ton of money and seems intent on spending it along with a really well rounded and competitive athletic program. As an LSU football fan I wish to thank Slive for adding a team that we have recently kicked the shite out of to the West.

I see that as a good thing. Reshuffled the deck. Now we get like 10% of the Nazi comments we used to.
