SEC Commissioner Mike Slive has told me that snub was the spark that set in motion the movement toward the playoff. The 2004 Auburn Tigers may not have won a crystal football, but they did help change the game.

WTF did it take 10 years to see a change?

IMO, AU '04 team may have contributed some to a playoff, but IMO the national angst felt when LSU/Bama played for the NC was the catalyst for serious change.

But TT damn sure has every right to praise that '04 squad they were bad to the bone.
