Which is why I don't exactly fault him for shooting her. Apparently this was their 2nd time robbing him. My issue is him giving her two shots in the back versus 1 in the leg or a less fatal area
They had been robbing other houses in the neighborhood for a long time, according to statements in the video. I'm surprised at the number of posters in this thread who think the old man was supposed to be calm and collected enough to handle the situation any differently than he did.
If I came into my house and there were two people ransacking it, I would pull my gun and start firing. Now, I'm not saying I would necessarily hit anybody because the heat of the moment tends to affect a lot of us, but bullets would be flying in their general direction at least.
The man is 80 years old, he and his neighbors have been robbed before and the perps threw him down. I think that's enough to get just about anybody angry enough to keep shooting even if the creeps were running away. I don't understand putting so much responsibility on the homeowner in this situation.

I put the responsibility of my fellow free citizens to not shoot people that are fleeing because of the heat of the moment. He was angry and chose to kill her as she ran and felt no remorse.

Right, the robbers had all of this planned, the old Man isn't privy to any of the script, he is in panic mode, and scared, no idea what is going to happen next.

And I'm surprised at the number of posters who can't comprehend that you can't run out into the alley as the perps are running away and shoot them because they're no longer an imminent threat. At that point, you're pursuing them. That doesn't give you a license in most states to shoot to kill.
Now had he shot and killed her when she was in his home in the process of the robbery, then I'd say it's self-defense.
Of course, I wonder how many people would change their mind if it was a cop that shot the girl when she was running away.
