There is no such thing as being overrated in the preseason. Now if we only win 7-8 games, yes we would be overrated, but you just don't know at this point.
How many posts have we seen regarding how overrated Coker and Fournette and Kyle Allen are going to be and how there is no way they live up to expectations... Same thing goes for MSU. They might win 8 games with their bowl game. I just dont see them making a push past LSU or A&M in the division.

He has them finishing 5th in the West
And winning 9 games
is this even mathematically possible?

And they are all BS because no one can predict the future. That's you opinion, I just think we are a better and more complete team than y'all.

Maybe his looks and trying to attract more women viewers is the reason ESPN keeps him. It is sure not because of his knowledge of football or his broadcasting skills
for the most part, i honestly think palmer is alright at his job compared to most, especially on espn

i'd take him over Verne any day

Everyteam in the SEC (including Kentucky) is a more "complete" team than us. Our defense is atrocious. We were the most incomplete team last year as well. Our offense will still be best in the SEC (save maaaaaaaaaybe Auburn). If our defense improves our ceiling could be 9 wins pre-bowl. But 8 is more realistic. Still will be good for 4th in the west behind Auburn, Bama, and LSU. 3rd-4th is pretty much our ceiling until our defense proves otherwise.

if state wins 7 or 8 games, no one would call them overrated. that's pretty much what they're expected to do. vegas has state's over/under at 7 wins

Wasn't he on the bachelor or something? That's a good reason not to take him seriously.

How so? you lost your two best offensive players in your history.

Vegas lines don't mean much at all in the grand scheme of things. How many wins did Vegas give Auburn last year?

yes, but he was also a starting quarterback for florida and played in the nfl for 3+ years. i'm sure he knows as much about football as other guys paid to be on tv, not that that's necessarily saying much. i just think there are plenty of guys much worse than him that still have jobs

I like the Palmer/Pollack combo

and auburn would have been a team you'd say was underrated going into last year, right? if state wins more than 8 games, everyone outside of starkville would view that as achieving more than they were expected to.

A lot of espn's college football writers and analyst are terrible, but Palmer might very well be the worst

We lose ground at QB (although I honestly dont think it will be that noticeable) the SEC will get to see Sumlins offense this year. Kyle Allen has been very impressive in workouts (which I know does not translate to games) we improved pretty much across the board everywhere else. RSJ (if he stays healthy) is just as good as Evans as far as making catches, he is a better route runner than Evans, just isnt nearly the downfield blocker Evans was. We pick up Speedy Noil, improve the O-Line. No drop off at RB.
Its not going to be nearly as bad as tRant thinks. I honestly still think we average 35 points a game.

correct. Like I said, you can't make overrated/underrated predictions in the preseason cause NO ONE knows how good a team will be. Every thing is just a shot in the dark.

You have to give credit to other teams as well though. State returns just about our entire defense which will be a top 3 defense in the league. Plus, we get y'all at home. I like our chances. It's gonna be a great game regardless.
