Add another dumbass thing that is discussed on the internet.
Most likely a student/employee put the bios up unlinked. He screwed up, someone found them by figuring out the url's. That student/employee knew how big of a screw up it was and to protect his job he said "i did not put them on the site, someone hacked and found the page" to the administration that doesn't fully understand URL's etc.
Time to move on.

The way I figure it, AU thought the NCAA was too stupid to understand the mechanics of what actually happened, so they used "hack" as an OMG! word to emphasize that they didn't deliberately put the page up for public viewing. It was in no way a "hack," but I can sympathize with thinking the NCAA is too stupid to understand the proper explanation and why it isn't (really) Auburn's fault.

Why would AU lie about something that isn't even that big of deal?
I'd assume they probably wouldn't, but you will assume they probably would. Iron bowl baby.

considering "hack" is pretty much used as any work around from the typical route in doing something with technology, I am waiting as well

People (bama fans) are just mistaking Auburn's ignorance regarding technology for some sort of attempt to deceive or mislead.

Except I have posted a couple of times it was likely a simple mistake by AU.

Kind of pales in comparison to paying a kid $180K to come play for us, IMO.

Even the AU fans on Redditt get it By AUs logic you are hacking into Facebook every time you go to a browser and type in your user name after facebook.com/

I was surprised AU even reported it as a secondary violation. Obviously neither the player nor Auburn gained any benefit.

All kidding aside, and rivals will laugh, but AU compliance is insane. Rich and the gang don't cut corners. They may push the envelope, but they absolutely don't look the other way.

In this case, they absolutely couldn't. This story was in the media back when it happened. The NCAA already knew about it, so it would be stupid -- and probably cause for real sanctions -- to fail to report it.
