Wal-Mart kills local businesses. Cannot support someone who is ok with running smaller businesses out of town.

Then I hope you also do not shop Amazon, Target, Whole Foods, Kmart, Dillard's, Macys, or eat at McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Taco Bell

Small business needs to figure out how to survive. Can't beat them on price? Beat them on specialization and service. Justify your higher prices by added value.

I'm not a fan of big box stores across the board. But Walmart is easily the worst of the bunch. And they have a tendency to attract some of the worst trash in the area because of their price points and product quality. I'll pay a little more at somewhere like Target if need be to avoid dealing with that.

But FWIW I buy majority of my produce at either our local farmer's market or some of the smaller stores that carry local products. Or I just grow it myself in the summer. If I can't manage that I'm shopping at Kroger.

This is the arrogance and Eliteism I'm talking about, even if I can sympathize with it.

That would be called capitalism which gave you residence in the most powerful and greatest country on Earth. Business models change and you either adapt or die.
