I've seen him in action. Kid looked good but didn't stand out compared to a another player or two. Still a take imo.

Depends on what happens at WR, but there are simply guys considering us that are better than him. He was an early commitment that maybe didn't develop like we expected. Kind of like Stanley Williams a year or two ago. We already have Godwin at WR, Michael Chigbu likes us, Jayson Stanley is trending our way (which was unexpected, at least by me), we may take Darius Slayton at WR rather than DB, and there is Shaquery Wilson. If we take Wilson or Slayton at WR, then the writing is on the wall for Owens.
Also, we're at least in play for Van Jefferson b/c of Tracy Rocker. Much more so than Vols fans would like to admit.
If I had to make a guess 7 months in advance, I would say we land:
Godwin
Stanley
Chigbu
Slayton/Wilson - depending on which plays WR and which plays DB (or both at WR if we don't land Chigbu)
And Owens gets left out, don't know where he ends up. Jefferson goes to UT.

Who else did he have offers from?
Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Duke, Maryland, UNC, NC State, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech.
Not a terrible offer list.
