That's why I find it funny when an SEC coach's overall record gets brought up. Half the wins are against terrible teams.

He'll go 4-0 in those games. Seems pretty smart to me. It's not like he's realistically gunning for the playoff. Schools that haven't enjoyed sustained success need wins even if they aren't against top competition. Bama or LSU playing that schedule would be shameful but not a school just looking for some consistent 7-10 win seasons.

We try to schedule a decent OOC every year. Southern was good when we set that up. The only thing thats embarrassing is playing at south Alabama. No excuse.

Eh...
I think both programs are doing what's best.
Alabama is good enough to beat those teams on a bad day, while State still needs to have a decent game. We have a hard enough time competing in the West, no need to shoot ourselves in the foot.

I'll bite. In our defense, USM only lost like 1 game and was making claims to be the best program in the state when we scheduled them. It was impossible to predict them only winning 1 game for the next two years. And this is probably the worst football team UAB has ever had.

Speaking of So Miss, I find it amazing how a team can go 12-2 one year, then 1-23 the next 2. They went like 18 years w/o a losing season.
