IKR... even kings and queens from the dark ages had "selfies" they were just done in painting form since cameras didn't exist and all.

Anybody that opposes selfies does not receive the same type of selfies I did before I was married.

I am just saying that if selfies are the end of civilization as you proclaim.... Then it's taking its sweet damned time getting here. The real issue here is you view what was done to a passed member of our society as a disgrace, your anger is placed on the wrong point here.

it took days and weeks to make a selfie in the dark ages.
dumb facebook ho-bags can do 4 in a day.
maybe civilization is a stretch, but civility stands.

So, if anything, they were even MORE narcissistic in the dark ages because they had ample time to think about it and decided to self-glorify anyways
No "oops, I pressed 'post'" when you're commissioning a portrait.

I'm still reasonably young but two things have made me feel out of touch recently: selfies and reading the line-up for Ultra.
Selfies are silly and narcissistic but they aren't doing too much damage. I generally (let me stress that, generally) find that people who love selfies are people I consider less intelligent. You've got a camera and you're out in the world and the only thing you can think to do is take a picture of your face? I know people w/ Instagram profiles almost entirely of themselves. We used to consider that sort of self-promotion and naked striving for acceptance and positive reinforcement shameless.

I view fake outrage over media outlets and social media more of a end of civilization than narcissist, being a self involved asshat taking selfies hasn't forced everyone to be this terrible thing called politically correct.

But what about people like me who have a pretty face?

Tbird... You ever stop to consider how many spankbanks your face is in, in the San Francisco area alone?

I am nothing if not generous
And at least I'm getting promoted somewhere. My Aggie gear probably killed my chances of ever winning over the Austin market

It's retarded, but end of the world? Not by a long shot.

Selfies are an outward expression of an inward narcissistic disease. The Black Death killed what a 1/3 of Europe? The actual killer was invisible but the symptoms were visible to others. Therefore that actual picture is merely the visual clue to the death of the person taking it.
Civilization - the broad form of human existence - and civility - the act of treating another's person over yourself - are both based in the concept of group interaction and common good by action to the world around you.
View what 2 pictures taken in the same place represent
#1 A picture of the pyramids in Egypt
#2 A selfie taken while at the pyramids of egypt.
Hence the selfie may not be the end of civilization in fact but it can indicate the disease of self in the person taking it.
