Dontae Walker, Class of 1999.
He was a year behind me at Clinton High School in Mississippi. He was the USA Today National Player of the Year as a Senior.
Signed with MSU and fizzled out.
Who you got?

Jasper Sanks was Herschel Walker reincarnated (I know we say that every year).

Did Richard Samuel from UGA ever make it to the NFL? I remember him being a 5*.
For USC, Demetris Summers was a 5* who got kicked off our team. All-SEC as a freshmen. Spurrier showed up and booted him.

He didn't. There were definitely players with more hype than him that didn't make it to the league though.

Walker is the only player I know of to be heavily booed on his senior day.

Dontae has stayed in great shape.

Xavier Carter ended up making some bad decisions for LSU

Caleb King, Jasper Sanks, Isaiah Crowell (assuming he gets cut before 53), Richard Samuel... UGA RBs could have their own thread on this topic

That’s what happens when you bring in so many 5* RB’s. The hit rate can’t be 100%. On the other end, we could look at how many made it and start up a separate thread.

For Ole Miss, Pat Patterson(weed...lots...of...weed), Brent Shaeffer, and Enrique Davis.

Patterson wasn't even a 5* on Rivals.
Blackmon was a consensus 5*, #1 player at his position on both Rivals and Scouts, #7 player in the country on Scouts, & #17 player in the country on Rivals.
