I thought Bitcoin lost all of its money and went out of business?
Evidently not.
They must have reached an agreement with the Fed.

That was only one exchange. There are multiple exchanges. Think NYSE, NASDAQ, etc.

It's ironic you post this in a thread where an exchange is actually sponsoring a bowl game.

Nobody cares about them. Guess that's why need to advertise.

Is this an SEC bowl? Not sure why this is on the rant.

It's a wave of the future no doubt but the wave has not yet reached shore.

Everyone needs to get used to it because it is the way of the near future. It is inevitable. A digital currency of one form or another will soon be the world reserve currency.
Paper money is going to be a thing of the past. Governments cannot control paper currency and some governments don't know when to stop printing fiat currency.
The only problem I see with Bitcoin, and this is a major problem imho, but it is still not tied to any commodity.

So bitpay has made enough actual currency from fees collected by converting digital currency to actual currency for companies who accept digital currency, but not really because they don't actually receive the digital currency but instead receive actual currency that was converted from digital currency, to sponsor a bowl game with actual currency?
How does that make bitcoin any less fricking retarded?

Um, maybe someone could have vetted this better:

What's really interesting about this news, though, is who exactly is paying ESPN for the sponsorship rights. The money is coming from BitPay, a Bitcoin brokerage startup that's recently gotten millions of dollars in venture capital funding. The CEO of BitPay is a man named Tony Gallippi, and he used to own a website, Soopermodels.com, that was known for posting sexy modeling pictures of underage girls.
From our pals at Valleywag:
Although the Soopermodels site is no longer functional, archived versions of the site as far back as 2002 feature a glamour model called "Bobbi Jo," whose year of birth is listed as 1989. That would have made her 13 years old. Although neither Bobbi Jo nor any of the other underage Soopermodels appeared nude, almost every shot is unsubtly sexualized, dressed and styled to look older, with clearly cited measurements to go along with the pictures.
ESPN has just struck a lucrative sponsorship deal with a guy whose first internet venture was based on taking creepy pictures of young girls and then posting them on the internet

I have degrees in economics and mathematics, and it's pretty clear that you and whoever made that diagram have little comprehension of math or currency.
Don't worry though. This doesn't necessarily mean you are a stupid person. The deficiency may be psychological, rather than intellectual.
There is a tendency among most people to subconsciously reject logic and reason when the implications run contrary to what they already believe to be true or would like to be true. It's likely that you're a pretty big fan of having your life controlled by men with large guns. This may be because you are afraid of what the result would be if you were free to run your own life, or it may be because you are a woman. Either way, you have convinced yourself that any world in which your life is not run by other people is sub-optimal, and you recognize on some level that a digital currency makes it more difficult for those people to run your life.
You believe, at least consciously, that you are capable of running your own life, and so you reject all of the evidence that suggests that people without guns can run shite other than your life better than the people using guns to force their dictates on others, and instead illogically accept the reverse, which allows you to believe that you are actually being selfless in allowing your life to be ruled by others.
The notion that a monetary system can function without any reliance on violence runs afoul of the whole lie on which you've precariously balanced your self-worth, forcing you to pretend that the opposite is true and post stupid diagrams that imply such.
If only you believed in your own ability to run your own life, you may well be plenty smart enough to work out the necessary mathematics and economics to understand digital currencies.
