Why doesn't the venom inside the rattlesnake totally frick the stomach of the indigo snake up during digestion
The poison has to enter the blood to do anything. If I am thinking correctly indogos are either threatened or protected species.

Yes, they are very threatened (at least in Alabama).
This thread is a great example of why people should know their snakes. Some people kill every one they see but a non-venomous snake that preys on pit vipers is a pretty good guy to have hanging around.

quote:Venom technically (rule of thumb: vemon is injected while poison is ingested). But yeah, the venom is a hemotoxin which should only be dangerous if it enters the circulatory system. Now if some of the undenatured venom is absorbed during digestion, that snake could be in trouble. Oddly enough, the vemon could then be considered a poisonquote:This

So, is an indigo snake the same thing as what some of us would call a "black racer"?

Gotcha. Didn't think that looked like a black racer, but wasn't sure.

Not to the Eastern Indigo. They're immune to rattlesnake venom.
Seriously, these guys will eat any small animal but they prefer to eat rattlesnakes.
If you're going to tolerate any snake living around your home, this is the one.

Has anyone here ever smelled snake shite? It's probably the worst smelling scat in the animal kingdom..
That being said, Snake shitting out snake shite would probably hold some form of krypton like powers and have the texture of a moon rock..

I dont know much about snakes. But I do know that when i see one, I am headed the other way. Generally, if I can, I will leave it the frick alone. particularly if I think its poisonous.

I kinda want to see another few frames of that rattlesnake busting his way out the other end and crawling away.
