I hate how old statuses show up on my FB feed. Saw Massie starting vs UVA but it was from yesterday. For a second I was like WTF?!

@FauxHughFreeze just tweeted that Weathersby is pitching.

Nah both teams decided to hold their aces to whatever reason. I think this helps us. Obviously would've rather had Ellis out there but if virginia is not throwing their ace and running back out last nights starter this could be a more offensive game.

Best I can tell, they aren't moving it back

Seems really lame if we win today that whoever wins on Sunday is short a day's rest vs the other team.
I mean, I get they'll be short a day no matter what, but it just seems lame.

Yeah, I think we have a chance to get to this pitcher if we can be more patient today.

I completely agree. Not sure why they won't push it back a day

Never played baseball but coming back less than 24 hours after doing a full warm up and pitching an inning seems like it would mess you up.

They're probably hoping UVA wins today so that whole point is moot. If Ole Miss wins today I wouldn't be surprised if they do push it back.

I was a pitcher, and this is true. Getting ready for a start takes a lot, you stretch out, do long toss, and throw in the bullpen to warm up. He may have only thrown 7 pitches yesterday, but his arm will be fatigued and not had time to recover. He will likely be much less effective with decreased velocity, and even if he still pitches well, he probably won't be able to go as long.

us pitching Weathersby is probably the best we can do... I'm very glad we got delayed.
Ive been slightly on edge about Massie all season and he just wasnt producing how we needed him to yesterday

@kkessinger62: Chris Ellis long tossing in the outfield like he does when he starts. Looks like we may see him very quickly today.

Id keep Weathersby on a short leash then. Ideally we can pitch Scott today and then Ellis tomorrow
In the event we win that'd leave us Trent and Smith for the championship
