Will be an interesting Comparison to follow this season.......

I don’t hate Todd Grantham. But, like a lot of you, I have zero Faith in his schemes OR his coaching style at this point. And his departure is probably the single brightest UGA memory that I can think of in recent history.

And then there’s Pruitt….. who without really even needing to....has pushed all his chips to the center of the table…….and not so subtly packaged and branded himself to the fans as pretty much the antidote to all of Grantham’s “perceived” poisons and short-comings…..

All of which inevitably leads to a very interesting show-down come Fall.

Different conferences, I know……..but they do have at least two Common Opponents in Clemson and Kentucky. Maybe more, depending on how conference championship games and bowls/play-offs shake out.

Anybody bold enough to make any predictions on how these two men’s Defenses will compare next year? And what are the variables to be considered when comparing the two? Etc? etc....?

I have named my hangovers Todd Granthams because they're intense and I'm not sorry when they're gone.

Louisville's defense doesn't have half the talent that UGA's does.

Secondly, L'ville's offense doesn't have half the talent that UGA's does, which affects the defense.

The comparison is invalid from it's conception, you should delete this topic before too many people read it.

And that's a memo.

my question is, even if Pruitt backs up all of his talk, how long will he be here? I bet we're looking for another DC in 2 years.

How can one half the team need a culture change without the other?

Can't agree with this. The departure of Willie Martinez ranks above Grantham. Grantham (and the numbers prove it) WAS an upgrade over Martinez. However, after fielding a mediocre run defense in 2012 with a boat load of talent, I knew we could do better and I'm just hoping that Pruitt is what we need. I at least like what I am hearing from him so far. Objectively though, Grantham left a pretty bare cupboard which hasn't gotten more scant with some pretty high profile players leaving the team. But if they don't want fall in line with Pruitt's coaching then it was better for them to move on. The net effect though is that Pruitt might well need a couple of seasons to get the players he needs to get the job done. Hopefully the few kids we have back there can step up but even if they do I'm very concerned about the lack of depth in the Secondary.

I'm not going to talk very dirty about Grantham. Obviously, it wasn't all due to him, but:

4-0 v Tech
4-0 v UT
3-1 v UF (w/ the loss in OT)
2-2 v AU

Really, it all comes down to the UF game and Grantham for me. He took that game very seriously and I always appreciated that.
