#7 tamu engineering
#31 alabama engineering
#42 vandy (overall)
The big three. Time for everyone to rationalize why list is shite.
When taking tuition cost into account, one could argue that tamu and alabama offer two of the highest roi of any schools in the USA

No art history degree from Ole Miss? bullshite list. The government and corporations are the reason I'm not making $100,000 right now.

average salary is really low 60k if you have a degree from top tier engineering school? I was thinking close to 100k.
Considering I have a business degree (accounting) and difficulty is a joke compared to engineering, I guess my salary ain't that bad. it's pretty close to that link's engineering salary actually.

and U Penn's nursing degree average pay is only $56,500? Something's not right.

For a nurse? That' pretty good.

I wonder what the break down looks like between all the engineering degrees.

Land grant schools usually earn more per student because of Ag and Engineering jobs can pay well while Liberal Arts degrees are worthless

I thought nurses make bank. around 70k or even 80k for some is my guess.

Fwiw, if i read it correct, this ranking only includes 57 total institutions or universities.

I was curious. My son, at the moment, is interested in Computer Engineering.

Since the schools gather the numbers from students across the board, they are arguably more reliable than the self-reported salaries that make up the database for salary site PayScale whose controversial return-on-investment research I reported on yesterday. People give their salary info to PayScale in exchange for detailed salary data collected on the site, usually because they want a new job or a raise. That self-selects for folks who are not contented with the compensation in their current jobs. NerdScholar’s data comes from new grads across the board.
This has come up before, some Universities do not survey recent grads or have a small response.

Isn't Harvey Updyke a retired chemical engineer?

It is the average salary of recent grads that respond to the schools survey.

Which is fine if you are comparing them to others that do the same and list them all. But like I said, I believe it's only out of 57 total universities or school systems, so in a list of 50, only 3 SEC schools, I'd say there might be one more in the other 7, but not likely.

They do...70K is a conservative number...

The pay average is skewed some... Nurses at Metro area hospitals make a good bit more than an RN working at a small town hospital or clinic.

My point is that Universities that survey their recent grads are lucky to get a 30% response from students. Of those that even bother to respond, will be the ones who are proud of their starting salaries. This is another flawed survey from Forbes and USNWR.
