I don't post much so excuse me if this is a shitty thread or has already been started 20 times this week .

Just curious on what is dawgrant's expectations for the team this year?

Obviously - we all want to not lose a game, bumfrick bama in the SECCG, and destroy CUM/OSU in the NC game, but realistically - what do y'all think is going to happen?

I see the following...

Clemson - WIN
USCe - LOSS (Emotional high from beating clemson. I hate OBC vs Richt games. Also, techo music.
Troy - WIN
UT - WIN
Vandy - WIN
Missouri - WIN
Arkansas - WIN
Florida - WIN
Kentucky - LOSS - Kentucky sucks, but I see this is a trap game. Besides, Mark Stoops is a decent coach and they have been recruiting well.
Auburn - WIN
Charleston Southern - WIN.
Tech - WIN

So 10-2 with a possible SECCG game appearance.

Again guys - this is just my realistic expectation based on witnessing years of heartbreakes and choking. I do hope I'm 100% wrong and we win the Natty.

If this is a loss, then we're going to lose a lot more than two games. They are absolutely terrible

I think UT is the trap game and we may lose too auburn first round, but get them back hard in the dome.

I'm not confident in this game AT ALL. They whooped us at home last year and will be ready for revenge from us introducing them to old man football. I'm thinking a loss on this one fellas.

I can see us easily losing to Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Vandy, Arkansas, Florida, and Auburn, but I can also see us winning all of those games too. I don't have great expectations for the year.

Good enough to beat anybody.

Not good enough to beat everybody.

I agree we'll lose two.

No telling who it will be.

The following teams are all in flux... Tenn, Ark, SC, Florida, Mizz, Clemson, all rebuilding alot.

Auburn's luck is going to run out at some point, but they'll still be damn good.

Not worried about Vandy or Kentucky.

10-2 seems realistic with most likely loses to SC, Missouri or Auburn.

The trap game is in Arky/Mizzou since we have to go there this year. Tennessee is a home game and I feel like our boys will want to get even. Kentucky is NOT there yet. The only other loss I could see happening is either SC close or Auburn close.

However both of those teams have lost key pieces. We are getting SC early when they are breaking in a new QB and defensive pieces. We have Auburn at home and we nearly beat them last year without all the injured players. Not to mention CJP will teach our secondary to just knock the damn ball down that close to the end!

As I stated on another board:

quote:

I think the East will be improved and has a chance to be deeper than the West this year.

Georgia has a week off before the SC and Florida game this season? Clemson, SC, Florida, Mizzou, and Auburn have lost key players to the draft. We have a new DC that has proven he can win big games with his scheme and his expertise is our weakness a season ago so I look for improvement there. We have coming back what I think is going to be a bad arse front seven on defense. We are dedicating more attention to special teams (And I think this McKenzie kid we got out of South Florida could be amazing on ST). Even with the crappy D and injuries four of the five losses from last season were a TD or less (I say again, "with all the injuries!") now we are getting back all our injured and our defense will be more experienced and hungry.. That could help us.

For SC Dylan Thompson is a great QB and I see him doing well if they can keep him upright. He's a true pocket passer though and no threat to run but when he came in he produced. They also have MDavis so their backfield should be stout. I think their defense will be good but will miss the pieces they lost. This is just me but I think since Ellis left their defense has slowly been dropping off but they seem to put together a good game.

Florida gets all their injured back and keep in mind with them in they were good even with a mediocre offense. Now they may have the scheme to get them over the hump. Their obstacle is their schedule. Yikes.

Look for Vandy to fall a lil (Due to lost pieces and Coaches) and Kentucky to rise under Stoops. He should field a lil better team now that they have had a year to learn things his way and he's gotten in some good pieces to fill in the gaps in production.

Tennessee is drinking the coolaid and really starting to believe. They've done pretty good recruiting and should be better but I can't keep from thinking they drop a couple this year that they shouldn't.

Mizzou will be good dispite their losses... maybe a lil weaker on defense but no dropoff in the QB department. They have seven home games and bye weeks before the Georgia game and I think A&M so thier schedule is nice and easy.

The big question for all these teams is who gets the injury bug next???

2-3 losses against any of the following: Clemson, USC, UF, Mizzou, AU. Additionally, there will be the annual flop vs. one of the clearly inferior opponents: ie. UT, Arky, Vandy.

9-3 or 8-4.
