I'd have to say yes, but I'm young. Hail State

2001 when y'all had almost everyone coming back after a 10 win season and a pre-season number 13 ranking was probably more anticipated.

Have you ever heard the term "Rosebowl" used to refer to a person rather than an event?

It's not even the most anticipated season in Mullen's tenure much less school history.
We were preseason ranked #20 in 2011 coming off an arse kicking of Michigan.
No one will have us pre season top #20 this year.

I'm talking about from your perspective, not the medias. I'm more excited than I have ever been.

2001 and '11 easily top this year media wise. Personally I think this year may be special. With Dak behind center I feel like we have a shot at anyone. That's not to say we're going 11-1 but I'm going to feel a lot more confident against the weaker QB completion like Bama and LSU than usual.

We went 10-2 in 1999, the 2000 season is what you are thinking of we were ranked really high early in the season before losing a game late at South Carolina that we led essentially the entire game. We still bounced back and had some big wins (Florida, Auburn, and Bama all at home) Lost a heartbreaker to Arkansas in the sleet. Then went on to go to the Independence Snow Bowl

2001 was also highly anticipated until everything went down hill after 9/11 we were set to play South Carolina on a Thursday that week and everything got pushed back. We played a week later and lost starting a snowball effect we couldn't recover from which included a beatdown at Florida 52-0.

As long as we, as a fan base, go in with hopeful optimism and not screaming OMADAWGS!!! Like we did for baseball season I think we'll be okay.

If we start off 7-0 I will get excited. I don't give a frick.

Also...should be a good season assuming the OL can stay intact.

I'l be excited too, but I won't be tweeting 7-0 pics from the pyramids in Egypt and hanging shirts on Bear Bryant excited.

I was almost that excited last time.

I assumed we were going to lose to Alabama last time...not as badly as we did. But I thought we would lose.

If we start off 7-0 this season it means we have beaten LSU, Auburn and Texas A&M. Definitely time to brag and make a fool of yourself. If we are good enough to make it to 7-0 we probably only lose 1 game on the season.

Fair warning, I'm gonna be one of those fools if we start off that well.

Close. We were set to play BYU on Saturday. That game was canceled, and we started college FB again against USC on the following Thursday. The USC game is one that we should have won. We gave up a 3 and 18 first down, and they ended up going ahead. We totally botched several scoring attempts that would have given us the W. BYU was pushed to the end of the season. They were #4 in the nation. We should have won that game as well. Worst officiated game I have ever seen in person. They had a beast of a running back that broke his leg against us and ended his career.
