Oh yeah, because when you do have kids you'll want to beat the shite out of them every time they act up right?

Then you, as an adult who is bigger and stronger than a little kid who can't defend himself, should start hitting them. Great logic.

I believe in that for doing work, or making good grades. But just for not behaving like a titty baby or a wild heathen, not so much. No one gets rewarded in life for being bad, they get put in jail.

Yes, because spanking is totally the same as beating the shite out of a kid.
Great logic.

People who spank always think it's a special form of punishment and not child abuse.

It honestly depends on the age. If they're quite a bit younger, it's not a bad thing for rewarding them for behaving. As long as you don't go overboard with it I don't really see anything wrong with it. I can remember being younger and getting rewarded with an ice cream or something for behaving at an important family event or dinner.
Problem is some parents will give kids all kinds of shite just to shut them up. That's when they start getting the impression that the bad behavior = reward.

1. You don't understand the concept of spanking a child 2. You like to argue 3. I don't

You mean like CPS? They recognize it as a form of discipline as long as it's not overboard. I agree.

Well newsflash, but being a titty baby and a wild heathen on occasion is part of being a kid. It's more about sitting them down before going out for dinner and reminding them how they're too behave, and if they do you'll recognize them for it. For my kids, it's usually something as simple as letting them build a fort in mine and my wife's bedroom and sleeping on the floor in said fort for the night. Or stopping for doughnuts or ice cream on the way home. It's worked for me as my kids are generally well behaved.

It's not child abuse. If me or my cousins were bad my grandmother would get a switch out of the yard and threaten to hit us on the legs if we didn't listen to her and do what she said. The threat was plenty, but one of my cousins finally tested her and she followed through... He didn't ever test her again.
Child abuse is when you do it for no reason, over and over, and have no control of what you are doing.. If you doing it to teach them a lesson it's different than doing it out of anger.

I get that, I was allowed to do those things, just not in public. That's what playing in the yard was for.

I don't have kids, but I figure spanking is useful when really young and doing something dangerous. Consequences are hard to understand, so best to connect licking an electrical socket with the red arse.
After a certain point I figure it starts to lose it's effectiveness. Then I start playing economist with sticks and carrots.

False.
Some women like being spanked. None like being beaten.

Well for me, the line is so razor thin. You have to spank hard enough to punish, but then spanking too hard is effectively beating the shite out of them. That line is too thin for me, so I just don't do it.

This has to be one of the most ignorant comments you have ever made, and that is a fricking accomplishment.

We need a stamp that says that and every time it happens we should use it.
