I'm stunned by this story. I cannot believe that Bama did something to a guy that has no business at RB that every single school has likely done at some point. The nerve of Saban!

Well it is even more stupid then. We don't need free agency in college football.

Of course not. They call that the red mist.

Why didn't the OP link the cbs article instead of the one by the village idiot?

Why would someone feel bad about this when prospects lie to coaches too?

Yes, Auburn did need a miracle to beat a Todd Grantham defense, but I thought Tre Mason was the RB last year?
Regardless, no he has no business trying to play as a traditional RB. Auburn is far from a traditional offense though. He is serviceable as a scatback type of RB in an offense using misdirection and speed to keep the defense on their heels. If you really want to argue that your 3rd (4th) string RB was the reason you guys won last year, though, then feel free to look retarded.

First no one from AU wrote the article.
Second it says Bama asked him to switch as soon as he got on campus.
Why gumps lying and saying he was given a chance at RB and blaming an AU writer for a national article?

The OP should have linked the CBS article, not AUC. Bryan Matthews has as much credibility in the eyes of Bama fans as the Capstone Report does in the eyes of Auburn fans.

Did him a favor IMO. He would have been a Dee Hart type that would've been buried on the depth chart. I suppose Saban should have let him stay a fourth string running back instead of giving him the chance at a position where he could see the field a lot sooner.

Position changes awaited on the practice field this morning. Freshman running back Corey Grant was with the cornerbacks after spending the preseason to this point at running back.

From this article Grant was given a chance at running back although a small chance. Maybe Saban saw within the first few weeks that he wasn't going to cut it at running back for Bama and that is why he moved him.

quote:Yeah, and it's a stupid point. Of all the stupid shite about NCAA rules, the transfer rules seem pretty fair. If kids could just transfer left and right without any consequences, it would be a complete clusterfrick.
The point he's trying to make is about maybe having the NCAA take another look at the transfer rules for players.
And Corey Grant will never scare anybody at RB anyway..

Transfer rules exist because players were doing exactly that in the early days.!
Posted on 4/16/14 at 5:10 pm to TiggerWoods
He started off at RB and it was obvious he was going to be buried on the DC, so the staff tried to put him somewhere he could useful.
But I'm sure they recruited him with the intentions to immediately move him to DB. Saban really likes 5'9, 170lb corners that have never played the position.

Big brother? Auburn? lulz. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy that will inevitable carry through this thread even though coaches from all schools do this.
