So why don't men get a say in the abortion process if this is the case? Why can't a man just abandon his child because he doesn't want it regardless of what the mother thinks?

Also, no, as the woman you are the one who physically deals with the child and you a lone choose who you have sex with and whether to use birth control. You have control over your own reproductive systems, you're an independent, critically thinking, decision making human being (supposedly). So the whole "it takes two" is a cop out. It really takes one.

Agreed. That being said, women are the gatekeepers to sexuality in our western society.
